The dental health crisis – Why Australians are now beginning to smile |
|
Dental health waiting lists have now reached a crisis point in Australia. According to the Health Services Union, over 650,000 people are waiting for over three years on public dental health lists. In Portland, Victoria, the wait is 68 months.* Of the 650,000 on all waiting lists, only 11% per year will actually receive treatment. Fortunately for Jackson Jessup, who was on the public waiting list in South Australia, he was selected to be a recipient of the Give a Smile™ program

World Orthodontic Congress 2010 |
This year Give a Smile was part of the 2010 World Orthodontic Congress in Sydney.
Give a Smile provided a booth which was part of the Australian Society of Orthodontists booth at the Congress. It was a huge success!
Give a Smile enjoyed a wonderful presence at the 7th IOC – WFO Congress in Sydney earlier this year. Give a Smile was highly visible and well-visited at the excellent ASO booth. The highlight was the colourful GAS T-shirt day on the Sunday when most of the auxiliaries wore their GAS T-shirt during the day and attended the Give a Smile- ASO booth to win a prize. Prize winners were Ms Kerrie Bryan from Dr Neil Pinto's practice, Ms Alaina Lendon from Dr Alex Yusupov's practice and Ms Helen Clements from Dr Barbara Carach's practice.
