Give a Smile™ is a public health goodwill concept initiated by the Australian Society of Orthodontists (Inc).
Give a Smile™ Orthodontists are ASO members who volunteer to treat, for no fee, patients selected from public orthodontic waiting lists throughout Australia.
To celebrate the achievement of treating its 1000th patient since its inception in 2005, ASO’s Give a Smile™ and Johnson & Johnson Pacific Pty Ltd have come together for Target 1000. This campaign seeks to promote the wonderful work of Give a Smile™ and publicize the need for continued support for individuals with orthodontic needs.
From our very first patient Emma to our target of a 1000th patient, Give a Smile™ have had the pleasure of working with very many highly regarded companies and individuals - we've been fortunate enough to have both Emma and popular media personality, Shane Bourne, together for an interview. Find out about Give a Smile™, who can be a Give a Smile™ patient, and how to become a Give a Smile™ Orthodontist.
There are now more than 260 Give a Smile™ Orthodontists throughout Australia. That’s more than 60% of all ASO Full Members!

“I am aware of the valuable work that “Give a Smile is doing in providing free services to patients from public orthodontic waiting lists. The Australian government is committed to improving access to dental health care, so I am always interested to learn about different models of dental care provision.
